Being an american, I have a different view of St. David's Day, but assume that you knew he was an ascetic. Anyway - it's a very interesting shirt. What is the character in red?
Hi Betsy - thank you for your comment. I'm afraid I don't know about the American view of St David, the patron saint of Wales.
If you click on the link to my other blog, you will find another link to what is known about St David, although much of it is probably legend. It does seem that he led a very frugal, vegetarian life but I hadn't heard that he was an ascetic.
The shirt (and cards and mugs) on my other blog features a collage red dragon, as that is the main symbol of Wales and appears on the national flag. The leek and the daffodil are also regarded as Welsh symbols.
