Fancy a cuppa?

I'm really puzzled by the whole business of 'store visits'! They seem to go up and down like the proverbial yo-yo, from nearly a thousand in one day to half a dozen another day. And they don't seem to bear any relation to sales. One Saturday recently, my store apparently received more than four hundred visits, on Monday just the one. And yet it was on Monday that I had a sale - just a greeting card but better than nothing! Maybe those 'store visit' counters are somehow faulty? In any case, I'm coming to the conclusion that it's best not to take too much notice of them.

Towards the end of last week I was really pleased when someone bought one of my Zazzle mugs. I enjoy putting my designs on mugs. Maybe it's because of the associations with mugs, sharing a 'cuppa' with friends', 'tea and sympathy' and so on. And for me a great many of the mugs in my kitchen cupboard were gifts from family and friends and that makes them especially precious to me and reminds me of the person who gave it to me every time I use it. So, bearing in mind what an important role mugs play in my life, I'm drawn towards creating mugs that others might come to treasure, even though 'mugs' aren't on the Zazzle Top Searches list.

But so far nobody had bought one, in spite of the complimentary remarks that other Zazzlers have made about them. So I was very pleased to find that someone had bought one - until the following day when the order was cancelled, presumably when the customer realised that the handpainted paper collage name on the mug couldn't be 'customised'!

So, back to square one on the mug front!

I appear to have mademore than one hundred mugs altogether!

And here are just a few of my favourites - flowery-gardening ones of course! - all waiting to go to a good home!

Apart from the creamy pink wallflowers mug, which is decorated with a photo I took in my garden, all the mugs are decorated with designs that I painted by 'traditional' methods - mostly watercolours.

I think all the "counters" are faulty. None of them ever seem have the same stats.

Love the mugs! I will visit your store this weekend. I will have time to relax and browse.

Love your mugs too, Judy! Regarding the counter I read in the Zazzle forum that you can't rely on it. I installed google analytics which seems to work pretty well. And it tells you a bit about the people who stopy by - which country they are from and whether they come for the first time. It is pretty easy to install.

Jean - hope you'll have a relaxing weekend and enjoy your browse if you get a chance! And thank you for your comments.

Ulla - yes, I think the 'counter' must have its 'mad moments, like the rest of us! If you have time, I'd be very grateful if you'd point me in the direction of google analytics. Or maybe I just need to google for it?

Glad you both like my mugs!

Judy,
you will find Google Analytics if you google it. Then open an account and enter the url of your shop as domain. This will produce an ID which you insert into your account at Zazzle. I think it is on the "store" page. It will take a few hours till google analytics is counting your visitors.

Thank you, Ulla - I did google it yesterday and got as far as getting the code and then I was lost because I couldn't find where to put it. But now I'll have a look on my 'store' page.

Ulla,

It's now up and running, thanks to your help! I know it's not comparing like with like because I only did it late yesterday but the difference is: Zazzle stats - 159 visits: Google Analytics - 4 visits! Hmmm!
