The Old Folks' Home

Some artists draw animals and birds and others mostly draw children - or boats. Recently I seem to have developed a habit of drawing 'elderlies' - I suspect it's my way of coming to terms with my own advancing years!

A couple of my recent Senior Citizens have acquired names;  this jogger  was always 'Archie' in my mind -

And 'Hilda' took her name from this piece of flash fiction, 'Taking to the Stage', written by one of my friends from the walking group, Cath Barton - though if you read her story, you'll notice that I've taken a little bit of 'artistic licence' with the colours!

But I don't yet have names for these two new residents of the Retirement Home -

So what do you think?

What names do YOU think would suit this lively bunch? I can't keep referring to them as 'red paint woman' or 'dancing man blue' - it's so bad mannered and they deserve a bit of respect at their time of life!

Please post your suggestions for suitable names in the Comments box.

The woman with the books: Margret. She looks like a Margret to me.

Thank you both!

Perfect names for them, I think, Xena.

And Ulla, my late ex-mother-in-law was called Margaret and yes, she does look very much like her, blue suit etc! I kept almost bumping into a very similar lady in Tesco this afternoon and I had a job to resist asking her name!

I'm terrible at naming things, but I love them all

I hoped you would, Carole! BTW, Archie went to a new home in South-West Wales yesterday!

Love the cards! The dancing man reminds me of my 78 year old boss Brodrick. He use to teach ballroom dancing. The red paint lady looks like an Edith to me.

Thank you, Jean - they do seem to be the type of thing I sell most of and I really enjoy doing them.

So now we have: Hilda and her brother, Archie, Ernest, in his chair, Margaret signing books, Brodrick dancing and Margie with the red paint.

That just leaves Margie's husband, Brodrick's country cousin and the woman painting.

Thank you, Norman.

So glad my tweaking did the trick!

And in case anyone else is surprised by the new pop-up comments box, it seems to be the only way that some people are able to leave comments.
