Oh, Judy, they're all absolutely beautiful! Love the Yorkshire stone walls, but I was transfixed with the Castle Meadows, Great Massingham and the Hereford Cathederal prints. The lighting reminded me a little of some of Mikhail Nestarov's Russian landscapes. Have you made them into cards at GCU yet? They would make lovely cards too.

Well, one of them's going to go in my hallway, but I'm not sure which one yet :)

Hi Polly - I'm so glad you like them! And thank you for introducing me to the work of Mikhail Nestarov. I hadn't heard of him but now I see what you mean about the lighting. (I think, though, it's always important to remember that what we see on a screen is back-lit and maybe a little more 'luminous' than the real thing!

I have made most of my pastel paintings into cards, but none of them have sold through GCU or Zazzle yet, though they are quite popular over here. When I had a website for my pastel paintings, yoodoo.com approached me about licensing some of them so they have been on sale through their website for a few years now. And of course, they go down well locally.

Anyway, thank you very much for your encouraging comments!

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back over here.

I'm glad the pastels are doing well for you. I wonder if the cards you made are blank ones and maybe that's why they don't sell well on GCU. Perhaps if you added a few words for retirement, sympathy, or "Thinking of You" they would do better. Who knows. I just got a bulk order for a Christmas card that I designed two years ago that has never sold previously. My best selling card is one I almost didn't upload because I didn't think it was all that good. You just never know what will strike people.

Hi Polly - thank you very much for your suggestion about adding some text or greetings to the pastel painting cards. It might not work for all of them but I'll certainly try it for some of them and see if it makes any difference.

Congratulations on your Christmas card order! It's really strange the way some things are more popular than others. My best selling Christmas card last year was one that I really wasn't sure was good enough!
